Council and community work to upgrade Milawa Hall

Milawa Hall has had a new lease on life after the Milawa community led by the Hall Committee worked with Council to save the historic and much used social hub of the township.

Rural City of Wangaratta was happy to support community efforts which saw a successful fundraising campaign coupled with Victorian Government funding of $39,000 received under the Bushfire Recovery Grants for Community

Mayor's letter to residents

We are facing another challenging time with the flood event of last week continuing to impact many residents, particularly those on waterways and in rural areas of our municipality.

Council has been working to support the emergency service response to this event.  An evacuation centre was established for people and their pets displaced by flood waters, and we are working to clear and repair

Flood Waste Waivers Available

Flood affected residents across the Rural City of Wangaratta will be able to dispose of damaged materials without charge with a flood waste waiver.

Rural City of Wangaratta will issue waivers for waste disposal fees on request from residents.
