Electoral Structure

In 2023, the Victoria Electoral Commission (VEC) commenced an electoral structure review into the existing Ward structures of the Rural City of Wangaratta (RCoW) to satisfy the requirements of the Local Government Act 2020 (Vic).

As a result of this review, RCoW is moving to seven single-councillor Wards; the South Ward will be re-named the King River Ward (the existing boundaries will stay the same), the North Ward will be re-named the Ovens Ward (the existing boundaries will stay the same), the Warby Ward will stay the same and the City Ward will be split into 4 Wards; these Wards will be named Appin Ward, Bullawah Ward, Wareena Ward and Yarrunga Ward.

For more detailed information on the Ward boundaries, please refer to the interactive map on the VEC’s website.
