Council is proposing to name new roads in the Wangaratta Cemetery.
This naming is needed for wayfinding within the new sections of the Wangaratta Cemetery.
Appropriate naming is essential for identifying locations when managing emergencies and delivering goods and services in Victoria. The naming rules are based on national standards and policies.
The names have been selected in accordance with the Geographical Names Victoria (GNV) requirements and the Official naming rules for places in Victoria 2022.
The names Augustine Boulevard, Pampas Boulevard, Fescue Way, Poa Drive, Bermuda Drive and Napier Circuit have been selected in accordance with GNV naming principle C linking the name to place.
These names relate to grasses found within North-Eastern Victoria and are consistent with previous road names within the Wangaratta Cemetery.
How do I make a Submission?
All submissions must be received 5pm on Friday 05 July 2024.
Members of the public can provide feedback on the name or submit name nomination(s) by one of the following methods:

All name submissions must explain why a proposal is opposed or supported to comply with Naming rules for places in Victoria – Statutory requirements for naming roads, features and localities – 2022.
All submissions must be considered in our decision about whether to proceed with this naming proposal. Rural City of Wangaratta will inform you of the outcome of this consultation.
