Council has an Audit and Risk Committee which is constructed under the Local Government Act 2020 to oversee Council’s risk framework, fraud and corruption controls and internal audit program.
Council is revising its Major Council Policy, the Audit and Risk Committee Charter 2024.The Local Government Act 2020 specifies that Council must review the charter at least once in each Council term and take into consideration good practice guidelines from Local Government Victoria and benchmarking with similar Audit and Risk Committee Charters.
All submissions and any proposed changes will be considered by Council prior to the policy being adopted.
