Did you know that CDS Victoria provides a 10 cent refund for every eligible container returned at refund points across Victoria?
You can save valuable containers from landfill and reduce litter in local communities – all the while giving bottles, containers and cans a new life.
Your local recycling depot
The exchange depot located at 74 Newman Street, Wangaratta is suitable for drop off and bag drop offs. The Rural City of Wangaratta is not involved in the facilitation or management of this scheme.
Zone Operators manage your refund payments. Depending on the type of refund point you visit, vouchers, electronic payments, cash or donations will be available.

What can I return?
Most aluminium, glass, plastic and liquid paperboard (carton) drink containers between 150mL and 3 litres are eligible. You can keep the lids on, as they can also be recycled. Look for the 10c mark on the drink container label. It is often located near the barcode.
What cannot be returned?
There are some drink containers that are not eligible for a refund. Generally excluded containers are those that are less than 150mL and greater than 3 litres. Many of these containers can still be recycled in your kerbside bins.
Make positive change by fundraising and recycling at the same time.
Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme provides ways for community groups and charities to raise funds by collecting 10 cent refunds and keep valuable containers out of landfill.
Organisations interested in fundraising will first need to register with CDS Vic to obtain a Donation Partner ID. This verifies your organisation as a registered entity in Victoria.
