Join us for Earth Hour – The biggest hour for Earth!

Earth Hour, celebrated annually, has grown to become much more than switching your lights and appliances off for one hour – it’s now a global movement, inspiring communities to reflect on our progress in conservation, sustainability and climate action.

At the Rural City of Wangaratta, are committed to advocating for a positive future by managing our bush reserves, partnering with community groups, monitoring waterway health, taking climate action, maintaining parks and reserves and overseeing responsible waste management.

During Earth Hour on Saturday 22nd March, millions of people around the world will switch off their lights and home appliances at 8:30pm local time to demonstrate their commitment to protecting our planet.

We know it will take so much more than an hour of turning our lights off to have a measurable impact on climate change, but the action helps to bring greater awareness to the issue and demonstrates your commitment within our community to help protect the planet – both during and beyond Earth Hour.

How will you spend Earth Hour? Will you reflect on our planet with loved ones? Discuss everyday actions for change? Step outside and admire the starlit sky?

Earth Hour is at 8:30pm local time Saturday 22 March.
