Community Knitting Project
The Wangaratta Library is gearing up for the annual Community Knitting & Crochet Project. Residents who like to knit are encouraged to join in and create something special for the community. Seasoned professionals to beginners are all encouraged to join.
This year, the initiative invites you to create cot-sized blankets and toys for comfort packages for children aged 0-10. These care packages will be shared with children in the Wangaratta region through St Vinnies and Tots2Teens.
Each package will include a handmade blanket, a cuddly toy (made without buttons or beads to meet child safety guidelines), and an age-appropriate book donated by Wangaratta Library.
If you would like to get involved, free yarn is available at the Wangaratta Library. Finished knitted items can be dropped off during Library opening hours from 1 March until 31 May 2025, no need to call in advance.
