Shared Path Network
The Wangaratta Shared Path Network connects you safely from the perimeter of Wangaratta to the CBD, in and around main streets and through many of the towns’ beautiful urban parks. Take a self guided tour of historical landmarks in the CBD or simply meander alongside the river or creek.
There are various points to join or leave the path network and the connected parks offer toilets, parking and amenities.
The Network is comprised of three paths:
Ovens Riverside Path
A gentle shared path that meanders along the Ovens River, linking together the CBD with Wangaratta Parklands and Apex Park. Along the way, you'll cross two suspension bridges and have the opportunity to discover ancient Aboriginal stories from the region (Bullawah Cultural Trail). Grab a coffee from a local cafe and enjoy this wonderful walk.
One Mile Creek Path
This 6.6km path connects the north and south parts of Wangaratta and runs along One Mile Creek. It has a number of recreational opportunities, including Wareena Park, Mitchell Avenue Reserve and various exercise stations. You will wander past natural vegetation and will likely spot an abundance of birdlife and wildlife along the way!
Three Mile Creek path
This 1.7km path follows the creek through the north western part of Wangaratta. The creek is usually flowing so keep your eyes out for frogs and reptiles. If you are lucky, you might even spot a platypus! The Three Mile Creek path joins up with the Yarrawonga Road path, where you can continue out to Killawarra.
