Hire a venue

Several of our sports grounds and facilities are hireable. These include:

Things to note for Sports Ground bookings

  • Clubs booking a seasonal agreement will have a priority over casual users.
  • Any pre-season training needs are to be submitted separately to your regular seasonal application.
  • Prior to commencement of use, clubs must provide us with a signed 'Seasonal Agreement’ detailing the agreed use.
  • Clubs who use a sportsground without booking may incur a fine.
  • We will work with Clubs to schedule sportsground maintenance.

Fees

Sports ground

  • Casual hire: $75.00 per half day and $103.00 per full day
  • Seasonal hire: 15% of the total annual cost of facilities.
  • Lights: $10.00 - $15.00 per hour (depending on venue)
  • Keys/Swipe Cards: $20 refundable bond

Primary and secondary schools are exempt from hire charges. 

Wareena Park Pavilion & HP Multipurpose Centre

  • Daily rate: $750.00 per full day*
  • Hire after midnight: $50.00 per hour
  • Bond: $600.00

*The daily rate includes a $15.00 fee for the provisions of public liability insurance. If you already have public liability insurance, we will deduct this  fee from the hire costs once you have provided us with a copy of your certificate of currency.

In order to make a seasonal booking request for one of our sporting grounds, you will need to complete the form: 

You will also need to maintain $20m public liability insurance during the period of hire, and a copy will need to be emailed to recreation@wangaratta.vic.gov.au 

If you are applying for weekend game days, please also submit a copy of the fixture to recreation@wangaratta.vic.gov.au 

Prior to the beginning of the season, agreements will be emailed and signed copies will need to be returned.

Wareen Paviliona or HP Multipurpose Centre

Step 1.Gather your documents

In order to make a booking at Wareena Pavilion or the HP Multipurpose Centre, you will need to submit the Application for Casual or Regular Use(PDF, 250KB).

Indemnity insurance is included as part of your hire however if you already hold appropriate public liability insurance, please submit a copy of your certificate of currency. We will deduct $15 from the hiring fee.

Season dates

Winter: 1 April - 30 September. Bookings close end of February.

Summer: 1 October - 31 March. Bookings close end of August. 

Sportsground closure

There will be times when inclement weather, maintenance or unforeseen circumstances prompt the closure of our ovals or reserves.
