Whether existing or a new build, the energy efficiency of your home has never been more important.

To counter rising energy costs and environmental impacts there is much that can be done!

Rural City of Wangaratta, with Wangaratta Landcare and Sustainability are being joined by Sustainability Victoria to present an information event on how to build a new energy efficient home and how to make your existing home or rental more energy efficient.

This event is not to be missed!

Wangaratta Library will be hosting a morning of information, sharing and opportunity, with Sustainability Victoria presenting on the 7 Star Homes pilot program to highlight design features that have seen 1000 homes upgraded already.

Sustainability Victoria will also provide information about current rebates and financial supports available for households to upgrade appliances, heating and cooling, hot water, solar PV and batteries.

“There are so many ways we can increase the energy efficiency of our homes and our planned builds,” said Rural City of Wangaratta Councillor Jack Herry.

“From government assistance programs to install rooftop solar and transition to efficient electric appliances to the smart design of houses.”

“Rural City of Wangaratta is proud to be part of presenting these opportunities to its residents so our community can become more energy-smart, contributing to important emissions reduction action but also keeping more money in the pockets of locals,” said Cr Herry.

This free event will be held on Saturday 15 October from 10am to 12pm at the Wangaratta Library.
