Looking for a new sport to try or hobby to pick up? Maybe your child is looking for a new activity? The Rural City of Wangaratta invites all community members to come along to the ‘Recreation: Reimagined Expo’ on Wednesday 4 Thursday 19 October from 3pm-6pm in Apex Park.

A variety of stalls, hosted by 14 different sports and recreation clubs across the municipality provides an opportunity to try your hand at numerous unique activities. Among the activities on offer are:  Pickleball, Lifeball, Parkour Hockey and Tag Rugby. From the chance for thrill seekers to take a seat in a car from the Wangaratta Speedway, to testing your tennis serve or softball aim, holding an archery bow, testing out wind sport craft or a radio-controlled car, through to pummelling a tackle bag – there’s something for everyone, regardless of age or ability.

The Recreation: Reimagined Expo supports The Rural City of Wangaratta’s unique sporting and recreation clubs by increasing their visibility and raises awareness of the diverse range of activities on offer in our community. The hope is to encourage community members of all ages and abilities to become more active, more often, by increasing accessibility and removing participation barriers.

Those looking to make a splash, are also encouraged to attend with the Wangaratta Sports and Aquatic Centre staff on hand to answer questions alongside local sporting groups such as the Wangaratta Amateur Swimming Club.

“Wangaratta Sports and Aquatic Centre is delighted to be presenting a stall at the Recreation: Reimagined expo. Our friendly staff will be available to discuss memberships and the broad range of fitness programs on offer for our community. We strive to make keeping active stress free, and accessible for all abilities’’, said Sonya Dalgliesh. Sports, Aquatic and Events Precinct Manager, Wangaratta Sports & Aquatic Centre

The Recreation: Reimagined Expo is free to attend with food, coffee vans and jumping castle on site.
