Playground Revamp!
Published on 26 May 2023
Playgrounds are more than lawn, woodchips and metal, they are places to meet, swing, slide, chat, laugh and dream. They are places to relax, to exercise, to escape to and be free in.
Rural City of Wangaratta understands this and has great news for residents who enjoy the Smith Crescent and Dundas Street playgrounds – they are being revamped!
Rural City of Wangaratta Councillor Jack Herry understands and enjoys the benefit of happy playspaces for families.
“Access to outdoor play is wonderful for children and families!” said Cr Herry.
“We are lucky to enjoy beautiful outdoor spaces across the Rural City of Wangaratta but we all need spaces safely accessible to our homes to enjoy.”
“Local playgrounds are great for not only the space and activity they provide but for the skills both social and physical they enable children to develop.”
"Next week works will begin at Dundas Street and Smith Street to remove existing, dated equipment, and replaced with similar more modern equipment.
Works are expected to be completed in early June, weather permitting.
“I look forward to seeing the revamped playgrounds and I encourage local families to enjoy them!” said Cr Herry.
