Outdoor Ball Opening Act announced for 2022

Local pop sensation Tahli Gibson has been announced as the Opening Act for Wangaratta’s favourite annual event, the Outdoor Ball.

“Every year the Outdoor Ball gives a young local emerging artist a platform to share their skills, and we can’t wait to see Tahli take the stage this Saturday evening,” Business Wangaratta chair Dave Fuller said.

At 16-years-old, Tahli has a wealth of performance experience, having graced the stage since the age of 5 through dancing and drama, and gigging around the Northeast since the age of 14.

“The Board is pleased that Business Wangaratta could support both the Outdoor Ball and Wangaratta’s youth arts scene by sponsoring Opening Act in 2022,” Mr Fuller said.  

“We are excited to support young talent in our region and the Outdoor Ball is a perfect platform for the community to enjoy their performances,” he said.

Following Tahli’s opening performance, the crowd will be entertained by one of Australia’s top Latin bands, Vatos Locos.

“The Rural City of Wangaratta loves putting on this free community event and it is fantastic to have Business Wangaratta come on board to sponsor the Opening Act,” Rural City of Wangaratta Mayor Dean Rees said.  

“The giant disco ball and festoon lighting will turn Merriwa Park into the best place to relax and catch up with friends this Saturday night. Bring a chair or picnic rug, or book one of the VIP tables for the best seats in the park,” he said.

“Perhaps enjoy a local beer, wine and or some of the gourmet local produce on sale.”

“Thanks to additional funding from the Victorian State Government we are able to go ahead with all Covid requirements in place, so there will be more space than ever to spread out with your family and friends on a picnic rug under the stars.”

No BYO alcohol and proof of vaccination are requirements of entry.
