New CBD Christmas Decorations
The Rural City of Wangaratta are installing new Christmas decorations constructed by local manufacturer Wangaratta Engineering. The durable and sustainable large-format decorations will take pride of place on the CBD’s roundabouts from Friday 29 November.
Wangaratta Engineering was awarded the project earlier this year and worked with Council to design the decorations with longevity and sustainability in mind. The decorations offer a long-lasting alternative to replace the city’s aging decoration stock, which have deteriorated beyond repair.
“Council approached Wangaratta Engineering with sketches, and project manager Glen Lloyd worked tirelessly to complete all the designs required. We appreciate Council using a local business and it's rewarding to see our work out on the streets and adding to the holiday spirit.” Jimmy Exton, Manager Wangaratta Engineering.
Council will be adding to its Christmas decoration stock incrementally over the next few years. This is a cost-effective solution to keeping Wangaratta’s Christmas decorations fresh while avoiding a significant fee to update all decorations at once.
Council strives to create a vibrant CBD for residents, businesses, and visitors alike. It is hoped the decorations will bring pleasure to the community and represent the joy of Christmas time; how ever you choose to celebrate it.
“The team at Wangaratta Engineering have been extremely professional and displayed great skill in completing this project. This is a good example of what can be achieved when we invest in our local businesses and community.” said Irene Grant, Mayor Rural City of Wangaratta
