March into Sustainability Events

The Rural City of Wangaratta is thrilled to unveil its upcoming March into Sustainability series of events throughout the month of March. Covering an array of topics including biodiversity, energy savings, and more - these events promise to offer engaging and educational experiences for all attendees. Developed and delivered in collaboration with local community groups, our aim is to foster greater awareness of environmental issues in an interactive and enjoyable setting. These events provide an invaluable opportunity for networking and connecting with like-minded individuals who share a passion for sustainability. Join us as we take proactive steps towards a greener future for Wangaratta and beyond.
CLEAN UP AUSTRALIA DAY

Help clean up your patch! Clean Up Australia Day is a fantastic opportunity to gather a group of friends and family or join a community group to help clean up your local neighbourhood, park, or reserve. The Clean Up Australia Day website has everything you need to organise your own event with a free clean up kit including bags, gloves and safety information or you can find a local registered event to join. BAT CHAT

Come along to Apex Park for a dusk walk and talk to learn more about Fruit Bats (Grey-headed Flying Foxes) with local wildlife ecologist Ian Davidson. See how many of these wonderful nocturnal native plant regenerators you can spot as they head out on their nightly travels. Bring along a picnic if you'd like to have dinner in the park. This is a joint event between Wangaratta Landcare & Sustainability and the Rural City of Wangaratta.

This dynamic exchange will cover actions that can be taken in your home including, draught checking, using water efficiently, understanding appliances and their energy efficiencies, switching to LED, using solar lights, optimum heating and cooling temperatures, and lots more.
