Lighting of the Christmas Tree & Scavenger Hunt

Get ready to kick off the Rural City of Wangaratta’s Summer in the Parks program of events with festive adventures in the Wangaratta CBD! Join us on Friday 1 December for the Lighting of the Christmas Tree and the Christmas Scramble scavenger hunt.
Visit the Wangaratta Kiosk on Reid Street (outside Commonwealth Bank) at 6:00 pm, to collect your Christmas Scramble scavenger hunt map. Then follow the map to discover letters hidden throughout the shop fronts of Wangaratta. Collect the letters, decode the secret message, and discover where to collect your prize. You can also go into the draw for a chance to win local store vouchers.
Then at 6:30 pm congregate at Riverside Square on Faithfull Street where there will be food and drinks available to purchase. Rotary Club of Appin Park are holding a sausage sizzle, Rinaldos Casa Cucina will have fresh gelato on offer, there will be face painting, children’s crafts and maybe even be a visit from a very merry VIP!
The evening will conclude with the lighting of Wangaratta’s spectacular Christmas Tree. Gather your friends and family for a memorable evening of entertainment, fun, and a little adventure!

“Christmas is a great time to spend time with friends and family and to connect with community. Everyone is invited to join in the celebrations which will begin with the Lighting of the Christmas Tree.”
