Lighting of the Christmas Tree

Rural City of Wangaratta is thrilled to hold the lighting of the Wangaratta Christmas Tree.

With the long-awaited warmer weather here, and the days stretching out before us, it is time to celebrate everyone’s favourite time of year – Christmas!

“Let’s get together to celebrate this special time of year,” said Mayor Dean Rees.

“Christmas is a great time to spend time with friends and family and to connect with community. Everyone is invited to join in the celebrations which will begin with the lighting of the Christmas Tree.”

“This Christmas let’s remember the real meaning of Christmas, reach out to your neighbours, to people having a tough time, it is the season for giving,” said Cr Rees.

The Lighting of the Christmas Tree will be held on Friday 2 December from 6.30pm to 9pm at the Riverside Town Square in Faithfull Street.

There will be food and drinks available to purchase. Appin Park Rotary are holding a sausage sizzle, and Rinaldos Casa Cucina will have fresh gelato on offer.
