Get set for a busy weekend in Wangaratta

This upcoming weekend promises an array of exciting events that will light up Wangaratta with festive cheer and community spirit. We are delighted to share the details of these great occasions.

1. Christmas Scramble - 01 Dec 6.00 – 7.00pm

Collect your scavenger hunt map from the Wangaratta Kiosk on Reid Street (outside Commonwealth Bank). Then follow the map to discover letters hidden throughout the shop fronts of the CBD while enjoying late night shopping. Collect the letters, decode the secret message, and discover where to collect your prize.

2. Lighting of the Xmas Tree 01 Dec 6.30 – 9.00pm

Families, friends, and all community members are invited to join us at Riverside Square for the lighting of the tree. There will be food and drinks available to purchase, a sausage sizzle, Rinaldos gelato on offer, face painting, children’s crafts and maybe even be a visit from a very merry VIP!

3. Self-Made Twilight Market in Apex Park - 01 Dec 4.00 – 8.00pm

Experience the magic of the Self-Made Twilight Market in Apex Park on the same evening. Stroll through the park, explore unique stalls, and soak in the lively atmosphere as local artisans showcase their talents. It's the perfect opportunity to find distinctive gifts for the holiday season.

4. Wangaratta Regfest - 01 & 02 Dec

Regfest revellers will arrive to set up camp in the Showgrounds on Friday with music and festivities kicking off in the evening at the Rodeo Grounds. The music will continue throughout Saturday and well into the evening.

5. Speedway Wangaratta – 02 Dec, gates open at 1:00 pm, racing from 4:00pm

Get set to catch the sprint cars, sedans and juniors who will be racing through the afternoon and into the evening.

6. Big Brother Big Sister Aquathon - 03 Dec 8.00 am – 1.00pm

Witness the thrill of the Big Brother Big Sister Aquathon at the Wangaratta Sports & Aquatic Centre. Cheer on participants and help promote health, wellness, and community support.
