Club Development Survey 2023-2024

The Rural City of Wangaratta is delighted to reflect on a prosperous year for sport and recreation in 2023, marked by triumphs on and off the field, innovative initiatives, and collaborative partnerships.

Local clubs have excelled both in their sporting endeavours and in community engagement. The year has seen remarkable achievements, demonstrating the dedication and talent within the Wangaratta sporting community.

The Rural City of Wangaratta, in collaboration with key partners, has introduced several initiatives aimed at fostering community engagement and promoting the well-being of its residents. Notable projects include the Recreation: Reimagined Expo, the GROW Program in partnership with Susan Benedyka Consulting and Alpine Valleys Community Leadership, and the monthly Sporting Club Newsletter.

A significant portion of the year has been dedicated to working with ROSS Planning on the Recreation and Open Space Strategy. Exciting developments are in progress, and the community can anticipate updates on this front in the near future.

As the year draws to a close, the Rural City of Wangaratta invites all sporting clubs to participate in the Sporting Club Development Survey. While the survey maintains consistency with the 2022 edition for year-on-year comparisons, there have been subtle improvements to enhance clarity and incorporate new developments from 2023.

To gain a comprehensive understanding of the needs of sporting organisations, at least one committee member and one participant from each club is required to complete the survey. With no limit to individual responses, the community is urged to contribute their insights. Committee members can expect a survey duration of approximately 15-20 minutes, while participants will find it takes about 5-10 minutes.
