Redcamp Bridge Replacement - Boggy Creek Myrrhee

Redcamp Bridge over Boggy Creek will be replaced after a contract was awarded to Waratah Constructions Pty Ltd. The deck of the bridge will be strengthened to increase its capacity to T44. The deck overlay will be removed and new deck slab with additional structural steel beams along with double layer guard rails will be constructed for strengthening purpose.

Wangaratta Creative Precinct

The Rural City of Wangaratta is thrilled to announce the completion of the Detailed Design for the Wangaratta Creative Precinct. The Detailed Design reimagines the co-development of the Wangaratta Art Gallery, Wangaratta Performing Arts & Convention Centre, and the Wangaratta Visitor Information Centre, creating a holistic, vibrant, and connected cultural precinct.

Walley Lane Culvert Replacement over Factory Creek at Docker

Waratah Constructions have been engaged to undertake works to replace the existing pipe culverts over Factory Creek with a new single-span bridge. The site is located on Walley Lane in Docker, approximately 500m from the Oxley-Greta West Road. Walley Lane will remain closed to through traffic between the limit of works. A temporary side track will be in place to provide access to residents.

Wareena Park Oval Upgrade

The Rural City of Wangaratta has engaged Gordon Gibson Nominees Pty Ltd for the reconstruction of Wareena Park Oval, Swan Street Wangaratta. The reconstruction works will include improved drainage and a new automatic irrigation system. Works will also include new infrastructure, including perimeter fence, AFL posts, synthetic cricket pitch, coach’s boxes and concrete pads.

Carboor & Whorouly South Road Reconstruction

The project involves upgrading the existing intersection and widening the road with asphalt and spray seal. The intersection is situation in the curve of the main road, Carboor-Whorouly South Road. The intersection is being upgraded by implementing a 90degree intersection to improve sightlines and eliminate all road user safety risks.

Cruse Street Remediation

Longford Civil Pty Ltd will undertake drainage works, road reconstruction and footpath works in Cruse Street, Wangaratta to improve the evidence of pavement and kerb cracking and settlement. The works are to prevent further damage to connected infrastructure.
Works will commence October 2024 and are anticipated to be complete by December 2024.

Appin Street Footpath Construction

The Rural City of Wangaratta have engaged DJ & CL Collison Concrete and Kerb to undertake the construction of the footpath on the western side of Appin Street from Sisely Avenue to Orkney Street. The footpath will benefit pedestrian access to shops and complete a major missing section of footpath.

This project is fully funded by Council under the 24-25 New Footpath Program.

Salisbury Street Road Reconstruction

Rural City of Wangaratta has engaged Wangaratta Excavation to undertake reconstruction works. Works involve the reconstruction of road pavement, concrete kerb and channel, concrete driveways, concrete pram ramp, footpath installation, asphalt paving and drainage works. The site of the works is on Salisbury Street between Burke Street and Cribbes Road.

Annual Road Reseal

Council has engaged Boral Resources to carry out resealing works on Councils roads commencing on Monday 2 December 2024. The works are expected to be complete by Friday 20 December 2024.

Rural City of Wangaratta invests $850,000 annually in resealing. The reseal program for 2024 includes 20 roads totalling 20.5km which is delivered as part of Councils capital works program.
