Bowser Landfill

Bowser Landfill is licensed by the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) to take only putrescible and solid inert waste and only from commercial operators. This includes domestic and commercial waste, supermarket processing and food waste, garden waste, demolition material, concrete, bricks, timber, plastic, glass, metals, bitumen, trees, uncontaminated fill and shredded tyres.

With the exception of asbestos (see below) domestic users should take waste which cannot be collected as part of the weekly kerbside collection to a Transfer Station.

Asbestos Disposal

The facility is also licensed to receive asbestos and Category C waste. Deposits of asbestos and Category C waste can only be made by appointment.

Until further notice Bowser landfill can only accept asbestos from householders by appointment.

Bowser landfill cannot accept liquid or prescribed waste e.g. paint, oil, chemicals, mattresses and whole tyres.  Penalties will apply if items of this type are dumped at the landfill.

Loads of general waste greater than 3 cubic metres will not be accepted at any transfer station unless prior written approval is obtained. 

These should be disposed of at the landfill.

Prices include EPA Landfill Levies as required under the Environment Protection Act 1970.
