Food Safety

Keeping food safe is crucial for a food business to prevent food poisoning. To do this, all food businesses and community groups must comply with the Food Act 1984 and the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code.

All packaged foods sold in Australia have adequate food labels. Food labels are required by law to carry essential information so that consumers are informed of the nature and properties of foods prior to purchase.
