The countdown is on to the 2017 Wangaratta Youth Summit.
The summit brings together about 150 exceptional young people from across the Rural City of Wangaratta to discuss a range of issues affecting their community.
Council’s Youth Development Officer Tom Arnold said the summit was the perfect opportunity for young people to talk about the issues important to them.
“The summit will create a space for young people to meet new people, organize, learn and participate in a meaningful way,” he said.
“The first half of the day will feature two guest speakers, game developer and writer Leena Van Deventer and award winning writer, actor and comedian Candy Bowers.
“After lunch, smaller groups will be formed to discuss key issues affecting young people in the municipality.
“Information from the summit will be used to inform the Rural City of Wangaratta Youth Strategy.”
